I am searching for a pair of open headphones that are fast enough for death metal, progressive metal, prog rock, techno, psytrance, electro, etc. Wide sound stage is desired and impedance below 120 ohms (to be powered by pa2v2 on an ipod). My budget is ~$250 USD. I have been considering the Beyerdynamic DT860... would they satisfy my requirements? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

+1 for the HFI-2400 use them everyday for metal and industrial music, perfect with the Fiio E7 max bass boost, very open and comfortable

GMP 8.35 @ 35 ohm, no amp needed...the 8.35 sounds is more pleasant and natural/balanced compare to the Ultrasones.

I actually went with the HFI 2400... got them about a week ago and LOVE them for electronica and prog rock... I think I want something a little different for metal and will probably add some Grados eventually. The HFI 2400 are AMAZING for techno and psytrance though! Thanks for the replies.
