The plastic parts on the headband that hold the lower part of the band (which in turn hold the cups) are cracking and splitting open.

Love the phones, but this simply won't do. Good thing they're still under warranty. The rest of you with 280s might want to be careful not to stretch the cups too far apart lest this happen to you...

this is not uncommon. at some online stores in China, the return rate of 280pro is 100%!! (due to cracking)
i think it is a design / material problem, sennheiser will lost lot of $.

I've used it carefully for 1.5 years, still some cracks (6 cracks) appeared.
