I have the same problem after updating my Pioneer xdp-02u to the new firmware 1.33. The update was somehow forcefully done, otherwise the connection to Tidal didn‘t work anyway.
I wrote to Tidal about the problem and they answered very quickly, saying that in no way they are connected to Pioneer and asserting that yes, they changed the security aspects of Tidal, but that they are not responsible for the rest and I should address myself to Pioneer, which I did. They answered the day, acknowledging that they are aware of the problem, but that they do not know why in some countries MQA is not offered anymore. The Pionneer guy promised to inform the developers in Japan about that.
My guess in the matter is that Pioneer just have some poor student there patching the software, with no real knowledge about how the firmware should work.

So Tidal changed some security aspects that they didn't tell Pioneer about and suddenly Pioneer has no more software engineers, just poor students? I don't think I follow the logic.
That they use a student to update the firmware on old devices is just my speculation, I do software for a big company myself and the procedure is used in order so save money.
Probably Tidal informed Pioneer about the changes, but obviously not all details about it reached the Pioneers developers.

On my pioneer, the tidal started working in the acc before the last update. sometimes it showed 24 bit flac but after updating only acc

Is the XDP-100 a real upgrade to the XDP-30? I see it lacks a bal output for starters?

Very cool. MQA is working again also for Tidal. I had pretty much given up on this so I'm quite pleased.

Couldn't tell because I downgraded when I Was only getting AAC. I'm on hifi plus now and the display says FLAC. Is this lossless now?
