Here is what I'm trying to find

On ear
Open or Semi-open (ideally semi-open)
Biggest possible driver 40mm-53mm
Hopefully 10-24k range or better (Not terribly important, atleast 20-20k)
leather or leatherish pads (preferably)
Light as possible (Must under 7oz)

Currently looking @ Yamaha HPH-200, Audio Technica ATH-EP700 and Ultrasone HFI15G

Any suggestions? Koss 75 and Px100/200 for me is perfect but the driver size is too small to effectively reproduce the lower ranges. I absolutely HATED Sennheiser 238, despite me being a huge fan of Sennheisers.

Google Phillips SHL9705a they don't look open but they actually are a semi open headphone that sounds very nice. The button mic works for android phones and iPhones too. I will be reviewing these sometime soon. Amazon had them at a very good price recently. Also these are very comfortable.

I am only speculating but I owned a pair of sennheiser 238 and I hated them solely for their pads

It looks like the Philips share the same padded concept as the 238's. When i took the pads off the 238's the clarity gained was like night and day.

The Phillips do not sound muffled and have holes in them. They are very different from most on ear pad systems.

have you removed the pads to see how they sound ? By the looks of it you got a thick pad between your ear and the drivers. I can't see how it wouldn't muffle the sound

If I can remove the pad without hurting the headphone I will try it but going by what I hear they sound pretty clean to me. They are not like a really good headphone or IEM in terms of clarity but they are way better than really cheap headphones and IEM's I have heard.
