I'm just curious to hear if any of you guys have bought a headphone more than once, after selling the original purchase. I'm also curious about what caused the re-buy.

For me, I really wanted to like the HifiMAN 400. Bought it, was disappointed, sold it, then a few months later, figured I would try it again with a better DAC/AMP. Again, was disappointed with the purchase, and quickly resold it.

On the other hand, I sold my Ultrasone Proline 2500, and I deeply missed the sound. One day, I decided I needed it back in my collection, and here I am, listening to it right now! Something about it makes me happy.

So, Head-fi, you ever buy a HP more than once? Which one, and why? Did you regret your re-buy? Maybe collectively, we can figure out if a re-purchase is a good idea or not.

I've bought a HP more than once.

Off the top of my head, going back a ways:
Grado 225i, Grado 325is, Sony MDR MA900,
Denon AHD 2000, KRK 8400, ATH M50,
Sony MDR V6.

In every case, other than the Grado's,
I bit the 2nd time on a great deal.
For example, the Sony V6 brand new
at $49.00, the Denon's at $210. or so.

I'm glad I re-bought all of them.  It
confirmed my initial impressions,
and I've kept them all other than the
KRK's and the Denon's.

(I'm currently selling the Grado 325is's,
but only because I've since picked up
the Grado RS1i's which are similar -
albeit 'better' and with a different
price tag.  I think the 325is's are
great headphones, and it's no mystery
why they've been so successful for so long.)
