Official X7 beta firmware (Android 5.1) download and discussion thread -- FW3.0.6 beta
Oct 23, 2016 at 3:30 PM Post #31 of 297
Hi!

I tried installing FW 3.0.0 and 3.0.3.
On both I get "firm error".
I put the zip file in the root of the internal memory, and I've also tried the root of the SD card.
Current FW is 2.0.
What am I doing wrong?

You have to upgrade from a computer.  Read the first post.

Can you please explain a bit more? I've read it several times, but I must be missing something.
What do you mean by "upgrading from a computer"?
I tried doing it the same way I've upgraded in the past.
Download Zip file, put in internal root memory, and use the upgrade tool in "technical support" in android mode on the Fiio.

You have to unzip that file on your computer.  Read the readme file it explains everything.

Thank you for your help.

In the previous updates, and on fiio.net it tells us not to unzip the file. And I can't see anything in the first post that indicate this.
So I thought "upgrade from computer" meant only that this update wasn't available via OTA.

Once they get this beta stable enough you'll be able to update the old way.  However, if you are coming from fw2.0 or older you have to do it this way.  Plus when upgrading from any fw3.0 version to 3.03 you have to do it this way as well.

Hi, maxwap
Yes, it is a bug. We will fix it in later firmware. Sorry for bringing inconvenience.

  Good afternoon Community.
My name is Olaf from the north of Germany. This is my first post here on Head-Fi. After update on version 3.03 Beta, I have found out that the Home Button in pure music mode is without function. In
Androit Mode it works well.

Hi, Olaf
In pure music mode, only FiiO player works so the home button is without function.

I have sent you a Dropbox link to a WMA file as requested.
Please not that I have updated the firmware on my X7 to Beta v3.0.3. All previously reported issues remain unresolved:
- Search
- Track time display
- Track title scrolling not working correctly
- Down sampling issues remain
- Amazon Prime music will not stream
To reduce the user/owner frustration level could I suggest that you publish a complete list of reported bugs that you are currently aware of and working to resolve with some idea of which releases are expected to contain the solutions.

I have reverted to FW 2.0.  No down sampling issues in this FW and Amazon music streams perfectly.  That's all I ask, I can live without the other nice to have items.

Media scanner won't scan past 6289 tracks for me.  Sandisk 200 GB card. Works fine on firmware 2.0.  Put it in my X3II and it scanned all 8970 tracks.

USB Audio Player pro can't find the sd card.  I believe it has to do with the naming of the SD card because every time I select it to scan, it goes to the internal storage.

Sorry if my reply is obsolete, but did you uncheck the minus 60 seconds box while scanning?

Hi, harpo1
Yes, it is some problem with the scanning. But we tested and scaned tracks more than 6289. We are fixing that issue. Sorry for bringing inconvenience. Thank you for your feedback.
