Pretty good choice for HK$2,680 if USB OTG (both hardware and software) were supported by HUM Pervasion, and a nice match for Hugo after adding Seagate Wireless Plus once we've found DLNA/UPnP clients supporting OTG.

They'll become very rich if a pure transport were made by modifying HUM Pervasion. Replace the DAC/amp with extra SDXC card slot(s) and we could add those 256GB PNY SDXC cards for cheap. Then swap TXCO with (dual) Femto clock and it's a done deal for tons of Hugo owners.
 
And they're actually based right here in HK as well, that could be such an interesting project since we still haven't seen anyone selling Android-based pure transport so far.

 
Well, not with a 24 MHz master clock for sure... that kind of design means that it'll need to use a PLL generator to generate SCK and MCLK for oversampling frequencies. There's a reason why people use 45.158/49.152 MHz XOs for 24/192 DACs and double that for 32/384. Either that, or people choose an 80/100 MHz master clock and generate different clock signals that way.
 
Everything else is good; they use top-notch performance parts everywhere, but the digital implementation looks a bit... primitive.

  The Pervasion is equipped with Wolfson WM8741 and a class A amp section but doesn't support hi-res music. Volume is digitally controlled by WM8741.

 
I totally didn't read the part about how it only supports 16/44.1/48... whoops.
 
The 24 MHz TCXO makes more sense now, but I'd still say that you need at least separate 22.592/24.576 MHz oscillators for 44.1/48 kHz multiples, respectively. With a 24 MHz master clock, you're still modulating the MCLK with an intermediate signal to get the desired rates (unless it's a voltage-controlled TCXO, in which the carrier frequency is voltage-modulated). Also, the WM8741 can do up to 768fs, and even with 22.592/24.576 MHz XOs, that'll only get you 512fs with 44.1/48 kHz sample rates. Well, I guess you don't have to use such high oversampling, but then you're not maximizing the potential of a ΔΣ modulator.

Thanks - that brings it down to a more reasonable $345 USD. That 6 hours still keeps me on the sidelines, though, unless it rivals the AK240 (which is very unlikely).

Interesting. Do you know what DAC chips they are using on their DAPs? Any info would be appreciated.

Based on what I have been told they are trying to bring something similar to tera player, sort of there take on such concept.

the casing is certainly impressive and i think it ie a limited built type of product.
