This was the best comparison I could find...

third/forth paragraph down, he says if going as dac only the DA8 is a clear winner.

Sigh, my poor wallet

I really want to get a couple of these, but there are some pretty serious issues to overcome:

1. Selling my current La Figaro 339: Absolutely brilliant amp. Upgraded Chatham (TungSol) 5998 and RCA 'red hots' make it truly an exceptional amp. Even if I could find a buyer, it is MASSIVE (30lbs+ shipping weight). It'd be so hard/expensive to ship it. A hard sell regardless of how it sounds.
2. Would have to get two new cables: One for the HE-560 and one for the Enigma ($300+ easy)
3. After all that... what if I don't care for the way it sounds? I will have lost my cables and amp by this point!

All that being said... what do you guys think that have actually heard the dual set up? Would my Enigmas and HE-560 really see any amount of improvement?

There's not much that you can do about 1 and 3. Everyone who gets new gear has to sell off the old stuff eventually, unless you hoard them.

About the cables, if you can get the jacks then you can reterminate the stock cables for much cheaper.

I don't have any experience with the 560 or Enigmas, but I have the HE-6. See my profile for a link to my review.

Oh I am very much aware of how buying and selling equipment goes. In retrospect, my list is more of a rant than anything. I just really like the idea (and price point) of the dual setup. I think it'd provide more than enough power to my two primary headphones. I'm going to throw a feeler out there for my La Figaro at an attractive price point and go from there.

Anyone in the LA area running this dual setup? I'm dying to hear it!

I've been enjoying the Nuforce HA-200 with my HD650's for a couple weeks now.  It is a fantastic sounding amp.  It sounds great with the HD650's.  The HA-200 is a huge improvement over my previous amp.

I'm enjoying the HA-200 so much, I just purchased a second HA-200 to run in 'balanced' mode and the new cables to connect with the HD650's.  I'm pretty sure the 2 HA-200's aren't necessary for the HD650's, or if I will hear any sonic improvements, but, what the heck!

Looking forward to it!

It's been a couple months since I last replied to this, but since then I've had a chance to try both the Enigmas and HE-560 on the monoblocks. I'm happy to say that the HA-200s do a splendid job with both. The 560's especially sound very very good, coming very close to the HE-6 while still having a bit of headroom to spare.

Cool, write back with some impressions when you get your second one.

I really really liked the HD800 on the monos, though actually wasn't as big a fan of the sound with my HD580.

Definitely, I sure will.  My 2nd HA-200 should arrive by the end of next week.

I only have the HD650's at the moment, but, I purchased the HA-200's as something to build on.  It is great to learn that the 560's play well with the monoblocks.

Armaegis,

No doubt the HA-200's run warm.  Do you keep your amps on 24/7?  Just curious.

Hello Mike,

my setup is MacBook Air->Audirvana->HRT Microstreamer->Nuforce HA-200-> Audeze LCD-XC.

I hope I can resist buying a second HA-200 but it seems to be hard work.

Regards
Olaf
