Noble Audio - the Wizard returns!

I never really tried to get them to sound exactly alike... kinda defeats the purpose of a new product.

🍺
Just trying to understand the products better.

So if i were to rephrase, soundwise for the newer product the noble prestige, how would you describe are the improvements or differences that you were going for over the mystique given the internal drivers are similar to the mystique that value adds to the premium price point?

In terms of design and build as the new product, the prestige is going for the wood build materials and the very premium finish which looks awesome. This would make up part of the reason for a higher price point as compared to the mystique

You really need to listen to them to understand the difference, a lot of comments are summarized as, more depth, more ritch sound, more evolving etc etc.

So I finally bought a Noble Audio Fokus Prestige, thanks to the friendly guys at Audiomagic (Poland). I must admit: my expectations have been blown out of the water!

I had almost given up on TWS buds, after hearing the Devialet Gemini I and II, Final ze8000 mk1 and mk2, AirPods Pro 2 and the Campfire Audio Orbit. Not that they are terrible... the Gemini II and ze8000 mk2 actually deserve a big thumbs up. But I felt the compromise in SQ and ease of use was too much (compared to IEM's).

Enter the Fokus Prestige, which sounds, looks and feels amazing. It easily matches the SQ of a wired iem in the <1k price range. It easily matches the looks of stuff costing 5x more. Last but not least, gone are the fiddly nozzles and fiddly device pairings and plasticky materials of TWS buds which all greatly annoyed me - joy of use is through the roof. And did I mention the wonderful EQ?

In conclusion: the combo of my smartphone + Fokus Prestige is (finally) good enough for my (very critical) ears and my portable audio needs. So I've decided to sell my DAP's and IEM's and use that money to upgrade my desktop chain instead (which gets most of my listening time anyhow).

Next stop: Fokus Prestige mk2 with Snapdragon Sound and Bluetooth Lossless. (hint hint)

I don't know if the Prestige's software is the same as the Mystique, but I really want an option for full customization of touch controls, and hopefully to remove/hasten the "voice assistant".

What I mean is this. When someone wants to talk to me and I want to activate ambient mode, I have to hold the left pad for 3 whole long seconds (Sennheiser MTW3s let me customize this to a single touch). On top of that, a voice assistant will pop up saying "ambient mode on", and they take forever to utter those 3 words (whereas Sennheiser MTW3s don't have that, making the entire process much quicker). The time it takes for me to finally have ambient mode activated, I might as well remove the earphones from my ears. Sometimes the people wanting to talk to me stare at me waiting for me to tell them they can finally talk to me; it gives off such a bad impression that I'm using an inferior TWS from a brand they've never heard of, when in reality it is from a boutique high-end well-known brand in audiophile circles, with pricetags for their TWSs going way higher than the consumer brands like Sony/Sennheiser.

It's really irritating that nearing 2024 we still have TWSs without fully customization touch controls and have an unnecessary voice assistant that takes a million years to utter the phrase "ambient mode on". I don't need an AI telling me that; the sudden increase in ambient noise is more than sufficient indication that I'm already in ambient mode.

Oh, and also, have an option to automatically pause music when ambient mode is activated. Again, the Sennheiser MTW3s have this.

Noble Audio and The Wizard, I appreciate immensely the SQ that these TWSs produce, and I really want to continue supporting you guys, but please polish up the software aspect. Please. I hope you'll take my feedback constructively, I don't mean any disrespect.

Reportedly Sienhieser:

- around 3,000 employees
- revenue of over $600,000,000
- founded longer than I have been alive

For Noble to be compared to such a giant is surreal, but for Noble to beat Sienhieser at any metric is very surprising.

The cherry on top.... beating Sienhieser, where some would argue matters most (sound quality) is almost inconceivable.

But, like "the little train that could" we will keep chipping away, at other areas beyond sound quality, in order to better compete against the competition.

Hi Wizard, thanks for replying!

Sennheiser may be a giant, but when I referred to their TWS I didnt actually meant it positively. I think they have decent software but really lousy SQ (I'm spoiled by Noble Audio's Mystique). So yes, I honestly think that SQ wise you guys have done an amazing job. Your TWSs deserve the praises it gets for SQ.

At the same time, I genuinely don't think it takes a big company to implement the software changes I brought up in my previous post. Why would it need 3000 employees or 600,000,000 in revenue for us to have a TWS with fully customizable touch controls, a seamless/instant ambient mode transition, and auto pausing music at the same time? Heck, why would it even need 30 employees and 600,000? It doesn't. It just needs a decent software implementation.

Beating Sennheiser at SQ is marvelous. But many use TWSs for their convenience, be it on the go or in the gym. It is in these scenarios where arguably SQ steps back a little while functionality becomes more and more important. Why should activating ambient noise take 5-6 seconds (assuming no bugs with sensing your touch) while not simultaneously pausing music?

I'm not even asking for anything amazing like extraordinary ambient noise, or ANC, or multipoint, or pristine call quality, or "find my earbuds", or whatever.

I hope Noble Audio takes my suggestions into consideration. I really want to upgrade from my Mystiques to a custom Prestige but my experience with the software side of things makes me so hesitant.
