I don't have a firewire card in my PC and I want to buy one for my JB3. I am confused as to the choices. What kind of cable do I need? Is the firewire connection on the JB3 4 pin or 6 pin? Is 6 pin standard on a firewire card? I plan on buying this card from Acortech.com:

Creative I/O 4 Ports IEEE 1394 Firewire PCI CARD ONLY Product Detail

IEEE 1394A 3+1 port PCI Card
Features

- PCI Local Bus Ver2.2 Compliant
- 1394 Version A.
- Asynchronous and Synchronous data transfer 400/200/100Mbps
- Meet all OHCI and 1394A requirements
- Supports PC99 ACPI Compliant
- P1394 connector
- 3 External and 1 Internal Ports
- No driver require for Win98/ME/2000/XP ( It might ask for origional Windows CD )

Can you help a new JB3 owner figure it out?

The PCI card has 6-pin ports, while the NJB3 has a 4-pin socket. You just need a standard firewire cable, nothing special, which might already come with that card. I think the NJB3 comes with the cable too.

I bought it used and a member here supplied me with a power supply and usb cable. USB is a bit slow (understatement) and I have no firewire devices. Thanks for the info.
