Gsmarena's long awaited measurements have finally been posted on the Nexus 10 tab, and I'm sorry to say that the results are pretty disappointing (to put it nicely) for those of us who tend to prefer android over ios.  The THD with headphones plugged in is just shockingly bad - 30x that of the iPad.

Otherwise, the Nexus 10 looks like a great tab, but this rules it out for my purposes.  I plan to refuse delivery when my N10 shows up in a couple of days, since Google evidently has no way of canceling pending orders, which are fulfilled directly by its affiliates.

Here's the relevant table and link:

I'm aware that developers at xda and elsewhere are working on software solutions to enable usb audio on the Nexus 10.  It also has native hdmi support, but all this means is that there are ways of sidestepping a badly designed analog circuit.

Are you really buying a tablet with the expectation that you will be carrying a dac and amp around with you everywhere you go?  Being able to output digital is desirable when you are going to be stationary for a while, but personally, I also need a tablet that I can enjoy listening to on the go with my IE8's and other portable phones.

This is a given with "i-devices."  The headphone out on an iPad 4 appears to measure almost as well as an O2 (setting noise aside) and better than a fiio e9.  By contrast, the Nexus 10...well, you can read the table above as well as I can.  It's an embarrassment.  Samsung has made plenty of devices that do measure well (or at least well enough for my purposes), but this sure as **** isn't one of them.
