Let me just start by saying that I have done loads of searching around this enormous forum trying to look for a decent option that I might like. I really didn't want to have to make a thread, but it seems like its my only final option. I really want to start my path as an audiophile, but I realized $12 dollar Mee M9's just are not that..
I really liked the soundstage and the depth of the bass of the M9's. But I just had this urge that I needed to upgrade.
I really want a way where I can really start.
These are few of the earphones that I might be interested in:
Etymotic Hf5- Coming from M9's I find it might be difficult for me to transition from a bassy IEM, to suddenly a detailed one.. Not sure if it will go well with my music tastes. Also very tempted by its isolation. A bit over budget, but I think its fine.
Brainwavz M2- Very mid forward, while still being a somewhat bassy option. Concerned about its lack of sound stage, but everything else seems great. I think I will enjoy it's striking, unique mid-forward sound.. Isolation doesn't seem that great..
NuForce Ne-700M/X- I really like the new bronze finish NuForce made with the Ne-700. I heard it has fairly decent soundstage, unlike the M2, and is quite a bit bassy, unlike the Hf5. Isolation that is similar to the M2's: not that great.
Fischer Audio Eterna - I don't even know where you can buy these first of all, and I hate over-ear designs.. However, it has great bass, sounstage, and even the isolation. It's just the over-ear design that I dislike...
I use a Sansa Fuze and I like to listen to:
-Rap/ Hip Hop
-House/Dubstep
- A tad bit of pop
- A little bit of alternative.
I really hope that I can be a hard core audiophile someday... I look up to you guys.
I highly appreciate ANY opinions or recommendations.
The more opinions, the merrier! Thanks so much!
