Hi guys.
I'm first and foremost a CD lover. I don't use computer (dont like being in front of one while listen to music) but I think its time to start to move on to higher resolution source and therefore, a digital one.

So starting with the basics... I have a Schiit Modi 3+ and a Heresy amp, from a CD source at the moment. What lossless digital player could I use just to transport a 24/192 signal to my stack? ... Is that how it works, or even possible?

Thank you for your guidance

You would want a DAP (Digital Audio Player) with a S/PDIF optical or coaxial output.

Thank you. Will a USB output work too (since the Modi3+ has also that input)?
The DAP would need to have a software driver, that allows it to work with the Modi's USB chip.
