Hello evryone,

Well my relfexion start when I try to choose a potentiel replacement for an old Mullard M8137 / cv4004.
I'd like the sound of it, but well really pricy on ebay :frowning2:

It's for a project ember  (by the way my tube is  ok at the end .... but I'm curious person so ...)

And well I've research if there exists new tube production ...  and I ve found this link
https://www.amplifiedparts.com/tech-corner/12ax7-comparison-current-made-tubes

I'm looking for a warm, liquid, and thick sounds with really soft trebble (I'm ok for some roll-off trebble).
- Mullard 12AX7 reissue T-12AX7-MUL
- Mullard CV4004 reissue T-12AX7-CV4004-MUL
- Genalex 12AX7 -12AX7-GEN
- Tube Amp Doctor 7025WA T-7025WA-TAD

Well 12ax7 is not mandatory, other type of tube for Ember are ok to me  !

So have you some experiences in new production tubes ?

Thx in advance.

Regards,

You can take this one off your list. It's well known for being a low noise, neutral sounding tube, to the point that while many sites test them for noise praise them for that, every tube roller comes out swinging to say they totally suck.

Tube Amp doctor seems to have a good reputation, isnt it ?

Yes. Especially if you don't have your own tube tester, or don't want to bother sending tubes back if they don't measure the same, it's best to rely on dealers like TAD.
