I just unpacked it and will let it charge for a bit now. First impression was definitely: wow this is smaller than expected, pleasant surprise. Just as light and thinner than the Shanling M1 too, feels lovely. Impressed so far

Has anyone tried roon Arc on the A306 ? I just placed my order with Amazon UK, should be with me saterday.
Im the same as some others, need a small DAP for books and music streaming. I'll probably put a SD in it too.
Suspect I can get pased the UK volume limit by using a diferent countrys Firmware ?
Pairing 64 audio Nio's and A12t's, Or perhaps the Campfire Andromidas ?
Sounds like the Sony custom DAP is doing a good job ?

No one has been able to hack a Sony Android yet. And those campfires will hiss. And hopefully you don't have the bass issue.

Roon ARC should just install as an app like any other, or is there issues with that ?
Im thinking of using a VPN at first update of the firmware, then it might install local to the destination to end point. All my old sony Daps did that ok.
Guess I'll find out saterday

Today I received an A306 from Bic Camera (via buyee) which does not have the bass issue, confirmed via REW. It sounds dramatically better, and tests perfectly flat.

The only issue is that the screen has several stuck pixels that persist even through multiple reboots and runs of a pixel refresher. Sigh. I guess I'll be sending both of my units back to Japan until this whole mess is sorted out.

You've got dead pixels. I had them on 2 wm1a's. Returned both.

Roon Arc works fairly well, but until Roon add the capability, you can't save files to the SD card (same as all DAPs) and performance is a little sluggish due to their poorly optimised code. FWIW, PlexAmp is currently much better for both functionality and performance if you are happy to try an alternative. Roon may get there one day but they've a lot of work to catch up.
