By the way, the Yggy doesn't draw power from the USB. It needs the power to initiate a "handshake" with the source device after which it will receive the signal only from the source device.
...

Sorry to disagree, but not in my experience. I just tried to unplug the power leg on my usb cable (while data still continuously playing music to yggy), and the music stop straight away (data signal light on yggy turning off). I know a few dac didn't need the power of usb after initial handshake (such as amr777) and you can unplug the power leg on usb cable, and music still playing. But I'm afraid, yggy is not the case

Thank you. I am interested in Cabledyne since someone else referred it to me too. For the uptone regen, do I need to buy a linear 6v power supply and a short usb A to usb B adaptor for it? Thanks.

How will cabledyne reference compared to Anticables usb or YFS usb cable? Thanks if you have any opinions on these cables.

I haven't the other cables. Uptone Audio provides a high quality short A to B adapter along with the Regen, so no need to buy one.
Uptone Audio does provide a nice low noise switching supply along with the Regen. If you want a better supply, there's something called "Sbooster Ultra for Regen". Link below:

Just connect the YFS or other cable to the Regen which you will then connect by adapter to the back of the DAC. This is the best recipe for audio quality.

I'm using a glass optical cable form my DVD player to my Yggy and it sounds superb, I have around 350 hours on it.

Ya same, pretty satisfied so far!

To burn in the ygg and my usb cable, Can I leave and ygg output unhooked and playing music from computer into it through my usb cable?  Thanks.

You don't need to "burn in" anything, but for best results leave Yggdrasil turned on all the time as it takes a long time for it to reach thermal stability.

It almost seems like it would benefit from a temperature control, both heating and cooling to keep the temp even and correct.

I've had mine turned on since I received it in April.  It took about 3 days to stabilize and it's been the same every since.  Nicely self-regulated already.
