I just installed itunes 6 on a new dual core machine. It plays fine, but imports are bog slow (like 3x at best). One processor is running wide open (50% processor load) which was normal on my dual processor machine. The difference is that it would perk along at 20x. Settings are apple lossless, with the error correction turned on.
Just for funs I turned the error correction off. Zing, spools slowly up to about 25x, before itunes crashes. I never gets through the CD without crashing. Sometimes second track, sometimes fifth. The standard windows crash box comes up asking to send report to MS.
Any of this sound familiar?
