I'm on the hunt for new IEM's yet again and considering a few options with the following criteria:
Around $100(range up to $150 for a great deal)
Need good isolation for the subway
Low microphonics for walking around NYC, running, gym, etc.
Worn over ear
I won't be amping these.
I've owned Shure SE110 many years back and enjoyed them but had cable issues and then the dog ate them. I have also owned UM1's and liked the sound but even with a good fit bass was lacking. The dog ate those. Since I've gone the budget route with some MEE M6's which stopped working after 6 months and I never quite liked the fit anyways and then some M11+ which I just can't seem to get a good fit and are a hassle to wear over the ear.
So I'm considering a few options:
Shure SE215 - Just worried about the connector issues many have experienced but I know Shure has great customer service.
ETY HF5 - Can these be easily worn over the ears?
Any others I should be considering? I beat up on my IEM's, maybe I need a cheaper pair for the gym and running and a nicer pair for my daily commute.
