Has anyone tried this yet? Tried googling and I landed here. Seems there's no other info aside from their website and a listing in audiogon. I'm intrigued if this is effective or not.

It does apply the HFC signature sound which tightens up the image, provides better clarity, and a more holographic sound. Due to a few time constraints I've only extensively tested with the HEK V2 and the pairing was quite a treat.

You may also wish to consider the  following similar product which has been about in various formats for some time (and pre-dates the Helix):-

I would suggest reference is made to Vertex's 'Systematic approach'
 
The Ultar is not mentioned in the 'SA' , as this was written prior to the development of the Ultar. However, the principle remains constant(which also probably applies to the HFC range of products.(although the technology is different)
