I've been trying the new search engine and been having some trouble. There are some things it misses and other places where it searches too deeply into profiles and other material. It is hard to find a thread unless you have the exact title, as far as I can tell.

(Sorry if there is another thread on this, but the new search didn't find it!

The regular search works (mostly) now.

The google search thing was added by Jude last week when there were problems. So the google search thing is a back up or sorts.

Of course, you could always use Google to search this forum before. It's just there is a handy convenient place for it now.

I see.
So is the head-fi restricted google search just a shortcut for Googling "x + "head-fi""?

Yup, pretty much like using Google Advanced search.
http://www.google.com/advanced_search?hl=en

Where you enter www.head-fi.org under the "Domain" section.
