@FiiO Currently having an issue where I can upgrade the left module successfully to 2.46 but when I tried to upgrade the right module, it sits on the screen "upgrading device, please wait..." but the status doesn't change no matter how long I leave it. Am following the instructions to the letter but having no luck with upgrading the right module, is there any fix to this?

The upgrade for the UTWS3 can only be operated for one module at a time. Please take the two modules out of the charging case and make sure the module that is ready for the upgrade is turned on while the other is turned off (please hold its multifunction button until a 'Power off' prompt is heard).

Otherwise, the two modules will fail to be used normally after the upgrade.

1. The upgrade can only be operated for one earhook at a time. For example, when the Left earhook is OTA upgraded, the Right should be turned off (Before starting the upgrade of the Left earhook, please take the Right out of the charging case and press its multifunction button for 5s to turn it off.) and vice versa.
2. Connect one earhook to a music device and complete the upgrade in FiiO Control APP. The two earhooks need to be upgraded successively before they can be used normally.
3. After completing the upgrade of the two earhooks, please reset them once. After the reset, please wait for them to pair with each other, so that they can be connected to music devices for normal use.

My unit is weird sometimes, the left earbud when i close the case it doesn't charge only the right, then i have to open up the case again, take it out and put it back in pressed properly and close it, only it starts charging again. is it a defect that i should be worried about or is it normal? Yesterday i had a weird issue where the earphones were connected to my phone automatically although they were closed in the case. I tried opening and closing the case and it did not disconnect, i had to manually off it in the app and then it started working like normal. Fiio please check if this 2 issues can be solved in the next firmware update.

Thanks for the detailed reply here, this did help to get the right module updated finally, although before I had turned off the left and right module through the app which turned off both at the same time and then only turned on the right module to update but didn't seem to work that way. To be honest the guide in the app is a bit vague on how the module's should be turned off to be update them. Both are upgraded now so thanks again

Please use alcohol wipes to clean the four charging contacts detailedly, and put UTWS3 back to the charging box when the contacts are dried.

I have that issue on a frequent basis, it is possible the charging point is not in contact as suggested by fiio, another is that the unit is still Switched On and it cannot proceed to charging mode so to resolve this : I manually switch off, put back into the case and close the lid and it will charge. I not sure what the detailed issue it might prolly be the lid which supposed to do what intended but i might also get a defective unit.... just 0.02.

On my FiiO android device the control app gets stuck on the loading screen :frowning2:
It’s the latest version of the app. I have successfully paired both R+L devices before trying. And I have restarted the device. Nothing seems to work. It’s just stuck on the loading screen. Am I missing something?
BTW they work just fine with the iOS app but I can’t update via iOS and the sound is supposedly better on android so I was hoping to use it but alas it’s not working. FiiO please get your software improved in both iOS and Android. Great hardware is not helpful if the software is unreliable...

After our tests, usually only one of the UTWS3 ear hooks does not connect, or there is no sound, usually for 2 reasons.
1. The two earpieces have been upgraded with different firmware
If you have upgraded the firmware yourself and the problem occurs after the firmware has been upgraded, then this is most likely the cause
Please make sure that the firmware is upgraded one by one, the UTWS3 cannot be upgraded with 2 earpieces at the same time, please note that it is best to keep the other earpiece turned off when upgrading.We have set up a reminder and forced settings in the FiiO Control APP, so you can download the APP and try upgrading to the latest version from this link: http://fiio-firmware.fiio.net/fiiocontrol/FiiOControl_2.4.apk
we will push it to everyone via mobile phone later, but there is still some work to be done recently due to the holiday.
Sometimes the firmware version shown on the UTWS3 is the same, but not necessarily the full firmware, so if this is the case it is best to upgrade again. Sorry about this.
2. The state of the two earpieces is different.
If you have no problem upgrading the firmware, it is possible that the two earpieces are in different states, as the TWS mode limits the connection between the primary and secondary earpieces to different states.
The principle is that you have to have the same state in both the primary and secondary ear before you can connect to the phone, but if the states are different, you won't be able to connect.
The easiest way to do this is to put both earpieces in the charging case at the same time and press and hold 12s to reset.

Please try this app in the Android device and check again?

So both pair just fine with my FiiO X5 III with aptX so I'm assuming they are both in the state since both are playing music. I sideloaded version 2.4 of the FiiO Control app and still, the app gets stuck on the loading screen. Otherwise, they work fine. I just can't use the app to update them or shut them off.
Why won't they shut off automatically when I put them into the case?
Will I see any benefit to updating the firmware? I intend on using them mostly with my iPhone X max; although a costume EQ will be nice!
Also, a hear-through feature that uses the built-in microphones to allow the user to hear people talking to them even though their earphones are plugging their ears will be very very much appreciated by myself and other users I'm sure. I'm hearing impaired and when my ears are plugged I can't hear what people are saying to me. So I have to unplug my IEM every time someone speaks to me. This can get quite annoying...

Dear Tal,

The following changes and improvements have been made in the new firmware:

1.Changed the volume setting scheme: remove the scheme of compulsively setting the mobile phone volume to max for each connection;
2.Miscellaneous bug fixes.

Note: If you prefer the previous firmware, you could revert it in the same way.

The ambient function is not supported by the UTWS3 currently. We will also report your feedback to the tech team.

Once I reset the pairing etc and forgot the device on my android i was able to get a proper bluetooth pair and then updated the firmware from the downloaded file.

it was a bit of mucking around but eventually got there.

Absolutely, but the extra step i had was just to reset the BT pairing and also on my mobile device to forget the device so I could set up the second unit as the primary before updating. :)

just got the utws3 (cm pin connectors) and smoothly paired with my phone and tab (samsung zfold4 & tab8u). but on both devices, i couldn't add to the fiio control app. btr7 i got earlier has no problem and i could operate it in the fiio app. from the app, it seems the utws3 already on the latest firmware ver 0.2.53. i tried both selecting R and L buds the app identified as well as manually selecting utws3. but either way and from both my phone and tab the result is the same - the app just keeps looping. music listening is fine from both devices though and the bluetooth range is good.

@FiiO would you have any advice to add my utws3 to the app? Thanks!
