hi, actually i'm using a hifemediy dac http://hifimediy.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=62&product_id=83 it works well but i'm interested in an upgrade. I 've read good impressions about this dac http://jlsounds.com/i2soverusb-with-pcm5102.html the converter is based on xmos and the dac on pcm5102. Could it be a good combo for my setup? For a significant upgrade is a good idea change the dac or is better to focus on a new better headphone like a grado rs2 or rs1 and remain with the old dac?

I have the RS-1 and I believe your money would better be served at this point (read: more noticeable difference) by a headphone upgrade. RS2i might be worth looking into on the used forums here on this site. Supposedly the Little Dot I+ has excellent synergy with the Grados and that hybrid amp is on my short list as well.
