“Came in a box well protected, all well packed. The UTWS5 is the best receiver Bluetooth market. ”, “Amazing. This product allows me to use any IEM I want wireless. The battery lasts a long time and the audio quality is high. The volume also reaches levels quite high.”... Users who purchased the UTWS5 before commented like that.

Dear customers,
Since the True Wireless Bluetooth Amplifier UTWS5 came out, they were warmly welcomed among consumers. However, its hot-selling and the delay of production materials caused by the pandemic led to constant out of stock. We are so sorry that we were unable to guarantee adequate stock and it was absent for such a long time. Now, the UTWS5 is coming back again. This time, we have prepared adequate UTWS5 for you.

The UTWS5 is a true wireless Bluetooth amplifier, which can be paired with in-ear monitors of different kinds at will. It features Qualcomm QCC5141, independent AK4332 DAC, and supports 96kHz/24bit Hi-Res wireless decoding. In addition, the high-capacity charging case allows for wireless charging at any time.

If you are interested in it, you can directly place an order at our AliExpress or Amazon stores. Or you can go to the local sales agent’s to experience it before purchasing. Note that the delivery to the local sales agents was arranged last week, so it will take about 2 weeks for them to arrive.

Thanks for getting more stock of these. I was waiting for a while for the .78mm one to come back in. I just bought one the other day, and I will be upgrading to the next model with a higher-end chipset whenever one gets released :relaxed:

Hey @FiiO
Do you happen to know the shipping status of the UTWS5 on AliExpress, the official sales link listed on FiiO website? I havent seen anything yet on the 0.78mm end version I ordered a week ago and the order is about to expire through AliExpress. Wondering if I should manually extend the time on the order to allow it to be fulfilled.

Dear friend,

My colleague may have replied you about that via Aliexpress. The 0.78 version will be in stock again at about May 30th. If you don't mind waiting a few days more, please extend the time.
We apologize for any inconvenience in the meantime!

Best regards

Any comparisons with UTWS3?
I have some UTWS3 coming today. I normally use the 5 for my good IEMs, but I wanted to try one of FiiOs dual dynamic IEMs and wanted a cheap bluetooth thing to go with it, so I got the 3 on sale for $48. Ill try it with the IEMs I normally use with the 5 and see if I can tell a difference.

I believe the main thing is the power capability is higher and the noise floor lower between the two models. I doubt Ill hear much if any sound quality difference.

Any comparisons with UTWS3?
Comparing between the UTWS3 vs UTWS5 I found there actually are quite a few sound quality differences.
The 5 doesnt sound as bass heavy and warm as the 3, but the low end feels more controlled. The mids and highs on the 3 also sound oddly close and forward, like it doesnt have much sound stage at all. I was surprised it had such a difference.
The 5's also appear as a single device in Android bluetooth area. The 3's show up as left and right ear hooks. You can connect to either and then the hook you connect to auto connects to the other one.
So IMO the 5 is better as the connection to phone is easier and audio quality and staging is better.
This was a direct A/B swapping between each model with the same IEMs, Mangird Tea's.

edit: the 3's also sat weirdly high over my ears. The 5's hug my ear more.

But to be honest, if you are comparing how each sounds vs the price and you can get the 3's on sale for $48 they are definitely worth the money. They sound very good for that price. The 5's are great, definitely better than the 3, but at the prices today the UTWS5 is also 2.5x the price.

Thanks for the detailed comparison! I actually already have the 3, and was curious what they improved upon!!

Hi, maybe a dumb question. I’ve got the Fiio M15. It’s has aptx HD. I see the UTWS5 has aptx adaptive. Will that still alow for the aptx HD codec to be selected automatically? It’s a shame they have no LDAC on it, but oh well!! I’ll be pairing this with fiio FH7’s

Dear friend,

The UTWS5 does not support Aptx HD so it could not connect to the M15 via Aptx HD.
As for LDAC, we have communicated closely with Qualcomm since the release of UTWS5. Recently, we have made some progress by testing the complete code in FW5. We will try to add LDAC support for UTWS5 if we can.

Best regards

@FiiO It's a little sad that your midrange systems doesn't play that well together. My M11 Plus Ltd. has LDAC and aptx HD, but no aptx adaptive or LHDC, while UTWS5 has no LDAC.
So I'm stuck with either changing my DAP to M11S, buy a neckband from Shanling, buy utws5 and use the worse codec or stay with my current TWS that sounds not that great.
The UTWS 5 would be my go to solution when my Ecosystem had one HQ Codec that worked over all devices (actually that's what makes apple users come back to apple, the "it simply works flawless" approach without any fuss)

@FiiO On the next version of the UTWS (6?) could you please do away with the 3 spring pin charging system? It would be really awesome if you could put a small induction coil where those pins are and give them wireless charging in the case capability. Right now these pins just cause too many problems as the device gets used too much with not wanting to start charging half the time until you fiddle with the thing a few times. A wireless charging point would be much more reliable for them.
Currently, it appears the 3 pin spring charging system end up getting some sort of corrosion on them that keeps causing problems with the hearhooks not starting to charge. This problem happens on both the UTWS3, UTWS5, and even other brand models of these sorts of things. It is very strange:

Ive tried cleaning it many times and the only thing Ive found to work even halfway decent is to take a razor blade and scrape the corrosion off. It comes back within a month or two though, and eventually ill have scraped off so much there will be nothing left.

As bonus points, if you could enable the case to accept wireless charging as well as wired input charging that would be cool too. It would be extra handy to be able to place the case in the same spot that multi-chargers have laid out for airpod charging spots to make use of those with these far higher end bluetooth units.

Dear friend,

Thanks for the kind feedback. Currently, we don't have the plan for next version UTWS product. But we will try to report your feedback to our product manager. And in the later batch of UTWS5, the postion of the charging pins have been changed:

You may need to clean the charging pins after using in order to keep it clean. The charging would be more stable.

Would you be able to add a low pass filter option to the ambient mode in the firmware? Or an EQ for it would work too.
Right now it amplifies high frequency sound far too much and it would be nice to taper off this high frequency to make it sound more natural.
