As the title states, I'm looking for a DAP that is neutral (has a flat frequency response), is high detail, and has passable build quality.

For a few years I've used the Sansa Clip+, but the headphone jack on it has failed so many times, and frankly I'm tired of buying them to only have the headphone jack fall apart even after soldering it back together.

I'm willing to go with the DAP line out to amp option if that is the best way to achieve fidelity.

Should I just go with the clip zip? Or does that have the input jack issue as well? Also, I was kind of hoping to upgrade anyway.

I don't know what my budget is. Sometimes I'm able to increase it if I am saving for something I know I want.

Thanks everyone!
