Whats the best Amp/DAC combo at $150 or so? I was gonna go for a Nu Force Icon uDac2 but I am told it adds some treble and I am not sure that would be a good pairing with my DT 990's
So I am looking for something in that price range that wont color the music brighter than it already is.

Oh BTW I have already tried one of those generic 50-70 dollar tube amps and it smoked up on me so those little junkers are not an option

  1. Fiio E9 Desktop Headphone Amplifier by FiiO $105.47
  2. FiiO E7 USB DAC and Portable Headphone Amplifier (Black) $74.99
  3. FiiO L3 Line Out Dock (LOD) Cable For iPod and iPhone by FiiO $8.79

$189 from amazon

plus, you'll have a to-go amp/dac on top of it. It's about as neutral as you can get in this price range, plus very convenient.

I bought a Fiio E10 to tide me over until I can afford a decent Tube amp and Nwavguy's Odac.

Which make and model was it?
Did you adjust the voltage?

the e17 would have been a good way to start.  If you didn't need portability then I also like the nfb-12.  Both have quite a few options on their use.  But I see you already ordered so nm.

ODAC + O2 also a good option, but slightly expensive.
