sorry for the fresh thread, i need some help quickly so i can place the orders for the parts for my mini^3 project.

the parts list doesn't specify a part

for the red charge indicator i found this part:
http://www.mouser.com/Search/Product...key78-TLUR4400

and for the blue power on indicator i found this:
http://www.mouser.com/Search/Product...ey828-OVLBB4C7

That is just from guessing. the blue is rather expensive for an LED. can someone help me with a part number for red and blue?

the description on the parts list says:
"T-1 (3mm) super-bright LED (red, for charge indicator)"
and
"T-1 (3mm) super-bright LED (blue, for power on indicator)"

somehow, i don't think the one's i chose are the right kind.

can someone let me know if i've got the right leds? then i can place the order.

Also, how is the mini^3 held in the enclosure? is it just shaped so it fits? Or are the components screwed down? the pictures on the site weren't that helpful

Neither of the links in the first post work.

I would guess they translate into part numbers:
828-OVLBB4C7
and
78-TLUR4400

The red one is fine but # 78-TLHR4400 is only 11 cents.
The blew one looks OK to but I would use # 78-TLHB4400

And...

From the Mini3 "circuit board" page:

Quote:

The Mini³ circuit board is made of high quality FR-4 glass epoxy, double-layer with plated-through holes as well as silkscreen and solder mask. It is intended to slide into the bottom slot of a Hammond 1455C801 or 1455C802 extruded aluminum case.

Yes, it just slides into the slots, but it doesn't even require the volume pot nut to be used at all. The board is simply stopped by the panels on both ends.

that i a really nice design. i can't get my cmoy to stop rattling around in the tin, without weighty padding (with the jack/pot nuts on).

thanks guys.

so for blue, i found these two on mouser: there's this more expensive one at 75 cents
OVLBB4C7
and the cheaper one at 11 cents, as MisterX was saying
TLHB4400

so, if the red one is fine, which of the two blue would be appropriate?

900mcd vs 15mcd.
Do you want a LED that doubles as a flashlight or will you settle for one that only works as a power indicator?

(# OVLBB4C7 is going to be very very bright with the default R6 resistor value)
