Hi everyone,

I'm planing to purchase Denon AH-D2000 (most likely) or D5000
Anyone tried those with NAIM headline amp (as i do have one)?

My sources: 1) Denon 3930 dvd player; 2) upgraded Auzen X-Meridian sound card

Thanks

I have not heard the naim headline, but I really like the slightly warm toned PRATy sound that most naim gear has. I'm very familiar with the D5k's and my hunch is that it should be a good match. However, I seem to remember hearing that earlier headlines were made with high impedance phones in mind and that later productions were revised to suit lower impedance phones like the Denons. I could be wrong.

And... that is a critical factor... to make certain the amp has a low enough impedance and great enough current to mate well with the low impedance Denons.

Is it a Headline or Headline2? If the 2, I had one. I'm sure it will drive almost anything.

rmask,

headline2 will make a perfect match with the denons, i've just tested the combo last week with a meridian cdp. your denon 3930 will make a better source, the new meridians are overhyped.

u will have a wonderful combo, trust me.

That's what I had. Plenty powerful for AKG701, DT770Pro80, & a host of Senns.
