remember the great W3 sibilance issue?..the harsh sound?

i finally got my replacement unit...and plugged it in. ..( http://www.head-fi.org/forum/thread/529838/westone-3-spoiled-i-am-in-misery
)
after listening to A-jay two and HD600 for over a month...i was surprised i didnt find the W3 harsh.

even after almost a year of usage..i used to find them little bright....but this unit is little more neutral...highs are clear but that 'sssh' feel is slightly relaxed if not much

Funny, not only I can't hear any sibilance or treble harshness on my W3 but I actually have to EQ highs a bit. If anything W3 highs seem to me too polite, almost rolled off and after hje900 I'm vey sensitive to sibilance. That's with moded tri-flanges (top flange cut off) and long foamies. Other stock W3 tips simply don't give me proper seal.

I think its a burn-in issue. See how they sound after 200 hours.

been using them for a while now.

W3 replacement unit....still sounds different compared to the original unit i purchased long back.

seems like they made some changes to the newer batch.

that sibilance is highly reduced
