The impressive edition housings also tend to break open. I'd say it's pretty common for the xcapes I hear. but you can glue the housings instead of tape. as long as you're careful. any decent glue seems to work. I haven't had to worry about them since. The cable was actually improved with the new xcapes and xcited. I would recommend them to others if the price went down.
