A friend on another forum put up his Musical Paradise MP-301 for sale and I saw the price and jumped, its on its way and I'm pumped. My question is is there anything in particular I need to look out for, tweak, etc.. in these-or any- tube amps?
I plan on using it for headphones but I know I'll hook up some of my JBL's to it and see how it sounds.

I've found the MP-301 was enjoyable with the stock tubes, honestly. In my case, I've migrated to RCAs for the output tubes and Mullard 6AK5 for input tubes. But why not try the amp for a bit to see how it sounds to you, then figure out how you want to tweak the sound?

I myself use 6L6gc SED tubes and I like 6AU6wc from Sylvania. The CV4010's sound good to.This was and at present my only tube amp. I have for speakers JBL E-20's. They go loud enough for me and sound good to.There is a  review here by another, that is very good and can give you some good ideas,Micmacmo has a good idea in that you should just listen to the amp awhile. Then go from there.
