MrSpeakers ETHER Flow and ETHER C Flow -- Inspired by Electrostatic Headphones

Dan,

Could you give me an idea of how the new vivo compares to the Wywires platinum please?

I had the pleasure of trying the Ether Flows with the platinum at canjam London and was very impressed. You had another after market copper cable i belive that sounded darker and i wasnt such a fan of. I'd appreciate any comparisons you could offer.

LOL, warning, land mines! Cable comparisons, run away!

Using my Liquid Glass it's easy to compare cables, so that's my go to system. On an ETHER C Flow 1.1 listening to "Take These Chains" by Madeline Peyroux on an Yggy V2 DAC, I'd say the best way to describe the difference is that the VIVO has a bit warmer tone with a larger soundstage while the Platinum may tease out a bit more detail above 5KHz. Female vocals are a little breathier with the WyWires, a little warmer with VIVO. Both have tons of detail, but the slightly different tonal balance leaves the top a bit more prominent with the WyWires (not to say it's bright, its not).

They are not night and day but the difference is there. If you're the type that really gets into hearing each rivet on a crash cymbal the WyWires would tease out a bit more, if you're into soundstage and texture you may prefer the VIVO.

Both have excellent ergonomics and are non-microphonic. For my tonal and delivery preferences I'd probably go with VIVO if I had to pick one, but I could easily see why someone would prefer the WyWires if they have a different set of priorities. We'll keep that on our store for that reason.

Guys I’m sure you’ve seen the hazards of wire conversations. There are those of us that understand the science and those that scream bloody murder on denial of that same science.

Dan’s smart to avoid the topic. I however am not that smart and try to engage intelligently and with as little angst as possible. Suffice it to say his upgrades are in fact always good upgrades. It is a new cable for MrSpeakers so to seek reviews is a little premature. The good thing is if you don’t like it you can return it. So very little to lose if at all ....right? If I remember our conversation correctly it’s made from the same materials as the cable from the VOCE. Don’t quote me on this, I may have misunderstood or misheard.

I agree completely and was hoping not to start a flame war. Don't get me wrong, better materials make for better components and I respect those who can hear the difference. My close friend Rohan can and I have no reason to doubt him. Heck, I can barely tell the difference between my Bifrost and Gungnir and when I upgraded each from Delta Sigma to Multibit. Rohan (we both met Dan in Nashville) can spot the difference in a split second. I can't. Sometimes, I wish I could. Sometimes, I'm a bit glad so it saves me money! I'm just such a huge fan of the Ethers. I love the looks I get from my friends when they hear how much the upgrade cost, much less the price of the cans. I'm happy. I'm at my end game on my desk system and over the ear cans. I'd like a better portable setup in both source and transducers. One day.

A large new driver. Super light. Very tempting, even though I already have owned Ether C Flow and Aeon Open Flow as an original owner for the last few years..
I wish I didn't spend 1.35k on a new IPhone yesterday..

Are you sure you weren't wishing that already?:deadhorse::beerchug:

Damn, I was thinking higher so that is a pleasant surprise! Any comment on UK prices? Also measurements of this compared to the Flow and Flow 1.1 would be great :L3000::L3000:

We'll be setting UK and EU prices = to US price + shipping + VAT, as is our custom. We try to keep the real price constant all over the world, factoring in local taxes as best we can. It's the only way to keep global pricing fair.
