So I'm looking for a same form factor amp/DAC as my current Geek Out 450, but I would like the highs to be more softer/rounded than what I currently have on my Geek Out 450.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

You might do better just to get a headphone amplifier and just keep using the Geek Out 450 as the DAC.
As it may just be the Geek Out 450's head amp drives your 300-Ohm HD540 decently, but not to the best possible.
At a later date you can always get a different DAC.

Will that have enough power for the 300 ohm Sennheiser HD 540 reference?
Your driving 300-Ohm Sennheiser headphone with a small USB DAC?
To get the best out of those 300-Ohm Sennheiser's headphones, people will recommend a Bottlehead Crack (w/speedball) headphone amp ($425).
but not everyone wants to spend $425 for an amp.

Maybe a Darkvoice 336SE OTL tube headphone amplifier ($214-$250)
