Most $$Cash$$ you've ever spent on a pair of cans?

HiFiMan HE-6 - $999
Stax SR-007mk1 - $1700
Sony Qualia 010 - $3000
Stax SR-009 - $5200

Going rate on Sony MDR-R10 and Sennheiser HE90 is probably ~$7k, so the owners of those respective headphones certainly are big spenders.

Haha, i've probably spent at least $500 dollars on various DJ100s. That's a bit obsessive. Reminds me of the people who collect old AKG headphones.

I'm not so into music that I need any $500+ headphones. I could afford a $1000 headphone at one point, but never felt the need. My music collection isn't large.

I bought a used (like new) ATH-AD2000 a year or so ago for $425.

I sold like a ton of DVDs to a used DVD store and that pretty much paid for most of it and it didn't hurt my wallet that much.
Then for the next month I had to suffer for it. Dang metal driver cover smashing my ears!

I think the AD2000 is worth up to $600 if they got the pads right. Still one of my favorite headphones.
Oh..and it actually has clamping force unlike the AD700!!

Like 60 or 70 dollars for a pair of HD429s haha...total would be about $160 once I get my E11 which I'm about to buy, and including my HD668Bs, which I got for $45. My Sony's were gifted to me so I didn't count that.

Probably $250 for my current Stax SR-Lambda + SRD-7/SB setup. I doubt I'll get a deal that good on headphones ever again.

That said, because of this forum's insidious, infernal influence, I get the temptation to spend even more for more Stax (or a Koss ESP/950, if I ever see one for $350 again).

Speaking of...what happened to fritz?

Anyways, the most expensive set I've got are the ESP/950. I forget exactly what I paid, it was not $999 though (it was like $650 or thereabouts, too lazy to go dig for the receipt). I would do it again, but only for them.
