Between the PTS adapters, the taller rubber feet that I installed, and the silver cylindrical feet at the bottom, Liquid Platinum is extremely well ventilated. The amplifier body gets only mildly warm, even after a couple of hours of use.
Just upgraded to NOS ECC82 Amperex Bugleboys with the Pulse Store adapters. Soundstage doubled and it’s so airy sounding I’m impressed. Thanks Jonathan for the recommendation!!
Also, with 20x gain for ECC82s vs 32x gain for ECC88s, there should be: a lower noise floor, less chance of signal overload of circuit, more useable volume knob rotation (=> lower chance of channel imbalance).

Finally decided to hook up my LP Amp and DAC today. Balanced throughout with blue jeans cables interconnects and arctic cables to the ZMF Bokeh. 1975 Voshkods with the tube monger sockets.
I’m not sure why I waited so long as I have had this schit for over a year and then got upgradeitus without even listening to it.
There is really something special about this sound, completely blown away. Looking forward to seeing how it changes through the burn in period.
Curious on proper power up technique? I have read on another site that the manual states to plug in to the amp first then plug the power supply into the wall.
Unless I am missing something my manual states to plug into the back of the amp and then press the power button on the amp. My manual doesn’t state when to plug the power supply into the wall.

Yes, connect LP power supply to LP amplifier before plugging LP power supply to wall outlet. It is 36 volts! I also unplug LP power supply, when not in use, from the wall outlet.
Numerous people in this thread have damaged their LP amps by connecting the power supply first and then connecting to the amp. You get an arc that kills the amp. I learned the hard way with a class D amp. Fortunately, that amp was very inexpensive.
Well I can’t remember how I plugged mine in, however for some reason I think I plugged the back in first before the wall as I didn’t want to use the power supply that came with the dac on the amp and vice versa, although they are different so that wouldn’t have happened (however I didn’t know that at that point, as I opened and setup the amp first followed by the dac).
Regardless it turned on and plays beautifully, over 3 days straight burning in, gotta love the tubes lit up! Those Voshkods are beautiful, thanks soundlumia!
