i made a mini-rca cable and everything checks out when i tested with the DMM but when plugged, i only get audio in one side. anyone have an idea this might be? i'll post pictures of the joints when i get home. but if there was a cold joint, is it possible for the dmm to register continuity while actual testing wouldn't work?

no i am sure the jack is not the problem, as i was replacing a previously made mini-rca cable which had no problems. i am connecting my emu-0404 usb to my little dot mkIII

yeah i do.. i can tell you absolutely it is something with the cable i made - i'm just confused because the dmm shows me continuity.

alright, just resoldered the joints - looks like it was just a cold joint on one of the rca plugs.
