I just received a standard 4.4 mm., balanced cable for the 109s from Hart Audio. I must say that I wasn't expecting much of an improvement in sound over the stock cable. Well, to my surprise, they sound significantly better; just a richer and more full sound than before. Plus, the cable is made of material rather than plastic so it's actually quiet. $75 well spent. Thank you Hart Audio!

I've got a pair of chifi pure copper cables for Meze 109 Pro that i have up on Ebay (bc i copped a pair of pure silver ones).
$22 (i paid like 50~)
They actually to my ear sounded better than the Hart Audio, which were an upgrade from the stock ones.
Im a nutter and buy a bunch of cables than usually keep only 1 or 2. Sold the Hart's last week as well.

At any rate, anybody needing a awesome upgrade cable over stock search for "4.4mm Balanced Cable 6N OCC Copper 4.4mm to dual 3.5mm.Works on Meze 109, 99.." and scoop up a steal of a deal.

For me Empyrean 1 is definitely an upgrade. That is why I still do not have the 109Pro.
Now that it is discontinued there are some incredible good deals around for a new pair.
