Meze 99 Classics Discussion + Impressions Thread

I was looking for a portable headphone that will not make me regretted that I can’t wear my HIFIman outside for quit a long time.  So after so many positive reviews I decided to take a chance and try MEZE 99. So what can I say…
Amazing!!! Meze managed to create wonderful headphones. I really can’t remember when I was so satisfied with headphones, even at home I prefer Meze to my HiFiman HE400i, mainly for better soundstage (and it’s not even open headset!) and less harsh trebles and more powerful bass. Normally its very hard to make any advice in this area but Meze 99 are so good and fun Headphones that simply cannot resist as they are so fun to listen.
P.S.  I was born in the town that is only 50 km away from Meze headquarter probably that’s why my ears fit inside perfectly, I would even say that older and smaller ear cups could be fine for me too. But sure this is something very personal.

Will receive the meze 11 soon and see if its a mini meze 99

Let's hope they are more akin to the 99 Classics than the Momentum IEMs were to the over-ears.

Heard the 11's at the London canjam show and first thought to self it is very reminiscent to the classic 99 footprint.

My thoughts also. It felt like getting almost a sonic clone in a tiny footprint. I would need more time to suss out all the differences.

Whats the difference on meze 11 and 12?

Unfortunately, I only listened to the 11 iridiums. The Meze crew told me that the 12 (which is wooden) was warmer.

I like how the Maple Silver version of the 99 Classics look. Does anyone know whether the maple sounds very different from the walnut versions? If the sound is really different, I'll have to suck it up and buy the 99 Classics with the dark frames.

Hey @Darknight123,

That's a very good question, and one that we received many times even at CanJam London.

The answer is there is no difference in sound between the Walnut and Maple versions of the 99 Classics.
