Where are you guys getting the MQA encoded music from?

Just tried them on Windows 7 w/ foobar2000, output set to ASIO, and they work perfectly (i.e. blue light comes on).

Blue light coming out doesn't mean the sound quality is better If you are use DAC like explorer2.

But even with the Explorer² the MQA sound quality is much better than the sound quality of the not MQA files.

Does anyone know if the Director won't officially get MQA support?

Unfortunately the Director will not be able to do MQA. I own one too and am a bit disappointed myself that Meridian did not build that in to the Director.... but at least it is a very fine DAC!

Can someone tell me what the latest firmware version number is?
 
In the update tool there are many options.

My assumption is that the last one is the most recent, but then 1718 is "bigger" than 1717.
