Hello everybody,

I've been on the lookout for a good pair of IEMs that aren't uber-expensive (as I tend to be hard on them without even knowing it) that will be used as in-ear monitors for keys/piano/vocals and light on drums, bass, guitars, etc. I will be using these on a regular basis and want to ensure they can accurately present the mids I might play on a piano similarly to the way the highs or lows might sound in the higher register with guitars or bass, respectively.

My desire: that I can easily hear everything that I would monitor - primarily keys, piano, vox and some drums bass and guitars.

I've been looking at the MEElectronics M-Duos (http://www.amazon.com/MEElectronics-EP-DD53P-RD-MEE-Dynamic-Headphone-Microphone/dp/B00MXDT0Y4/) and like the fact that I can use them additionally as regular earbuds for my phone, tablet, etc.

I am currently using the Monoprice 8320s and they're great, but the cable is getting irritating as it can kink or can keep a kink even when carefully winding the cable around the spool in a carrying case so as not to create a kink. (http://bit.ly/1ssHJtd) - link to Monoprice site.

I also have recently picked up the Sony MDREX110 earbuds with mic and remote to use for my cell phone while at the office (I am tired of using bluetooth all the time and the isolation helps me stay in the zone at the office. (http://www.amazon.com/Sony-MDR-EX110AP-headphones-mic/dp/B00DLJYR0G/)

I like the M-Duos because they are dual-driver which I have heard is a generally better sound that single-driver buds. I'm not looking to spend $150 on buds from Shure, etc because of my earlier statement that I am generally rough on buds. Given the above, $50 isn't a bad deal on dual driver earbuds if they sound well and can do the job I intend for them with the stage mix I need while playing. I also enjoy hearing what other people may think of these or other IEMs for future searching.

Thanks!

Jon
