I've been researching an amp to drive D2000s and looks like narrowed it down to these two. Couldn't find any posts that compare the two though, so has anyone had experience with both? Or should I still look at something else entirely?

Have not heard the E5 but I can tell you the Matrix with my D7000 out performs my 3x more Decware amp. Power and tremendous detail and slam is what comes to mind. Highly recommended

I have the EF5 and the denons. While they sound great together, the Millet Hybrid MiniMax (blackagtes) from whiplash audio is on another level altogether. I would highly recommend that amp and with 12ae6 tubes the denons pump! Crazy detail, beautiful soundstage - just does everything right IMHO.
