To add to all the contradictions you see. To my ears, out of an iPhone:
I use Tune 1 for when I listen to pop and want to focus on vocals - it focuses vocals better than Tune 2.
I use Tune 2 for listening to symphonies or instrumentals that don’t require a focussed center - it expands the soundstage at the expense of a focussed center.
That matches ClieOS translation of their advertisment material

Here are what L&P advertises Tune 1 and 2 (rough translation):

Tune 1: Looser sound for mainstream, vocal based music.
Tune 2: Refined sound for complex music such as classical

I am just guessing here, but back when L&P released E7 (roughly the same period of time when W series were developed / released), they talked about the special tuning which they discovered accidentally during the development on how to control (increase or cancel) the harmonics of the audio circuit. Harmonics are generally considered added noise because they are not part of the original audio signal, and they are usually unavoidable (though most good audio circuit will have low enough harmonics that is lower than most people hearing limit and thus considered to not be any issue). To over simplify it, even harmonics are usually considered more pleasing and give a vacuum tube like quality to the sound while odd harmonics are more associated with solid stage sound that is more edgy. So by control more or less even/odd harmonics, they can change the presentation of the sound in a very subtle way without affecting other technical aspects of the circuit. I wonder if Tune 1 vs Tune 2 is basically the same thing.

My L&P W2 is no longer working with my iPhone or iPad, while it does work with my LG G8. Did the iOS 16.5 iOS update break all OTG cables? It was reported it only broke the Apple camera adapter(?)

Anyone found a remedy? Is Apple going to fix this?

Did you make sure to update W2 fw to the latest one?

Just tried on my iPhone 14 pro max on iOS 16.5 with Qobuz and it’s working fine for me. W2 OG on latest FW using stock cable.

There is new W1/W2 FW available on Google Drive V1.0.5.02.bin, courtesy of bluestorm1992.

Already updated, no issues.
Don't have access to a Windows machine at the moment, so haven't updated yet.

Does anybody know whether the IE600 sound profile issues have been fixed with this version? Using it with an IE600 was pretty bad in the previous firmware version with certain songs unfortunately.

I've finally managed to update today to 1.0.5.2 and can happily report that the IE600 sound profile issues have been resolved now!
