Low end. Cheap. Generic. Otherwise bang for buck cable thread!

Question.
What does the 5N/6N/7N in OCC copper/silver mean?

I guess its the purity. Is a higher number better then a lower?

As you thought, it is a way of writing purity. 99% pure would be 2N, 99.99% is 4N, 99.999% is 5N, and so on.

It’s worth mentioning that higher purity does not mean the cable is better - thickness, soldering, weave, plugs and more all have important roles. Also there is no guarantee that you get the purity advertised. Best to choose based on the impressions of people who have tried it, and your own aesthetic preferences.

Thanks @Echalon i had been wondering about it for some time.

I see it's the sum of all parts that count also.

does 99.9% vs 99.999% ear can hear sound difference?

How can you be ensured that sound difference is due to metal purity and not other parts of cable?

It's wire, makes no difference if it's correctly made. AWG only matters in long cable runs.

Hello, I need a cable recommendation

I have Seeaudio Yume Ultra which has amazing detail, a bit bright side so I need two cables.

First one will be for pure detail, propably a cable with least amount of resistance which silver or gold plated I guess?

Second is I want to add more bass to these so a good copper should do.

I did some search here and found these but since this is a 600 page so there might be a lot better bang for buck cables out there. My preffered color is black but I dont mind other colors as long as Its good.

Repeated cable swaps will loosen the connectors on the IEM. Not just MMCX but 2pin aswell.

I'd suggest tip rolling because with tips the sound difference in them is real, and not like in cables where you have to belong to the church of cables to hear the difference.

I purchased the Dunu SS tips. Waiting for them to arrive. I have Fiio LS TC 1 and it grips the IEM so well. But the stock cable is trash. I will buy one. I guess I will go with Openheart 8 core black then buy the Moondrop cable when its on sale
