I'm currently looking for an upgrade from my Sennheiser HD 598's. I love them, especially the midrange, but the low end isn't quite as satisfying to me. I'd like to pair these headphones with my Audioengine D1 DAC/Amp. Budget is around 300 EUR, and here's what I'm looking for:
1) Soundstage that is somewhere at the level of the HD 598.
2) Comfortable for long listening sessions.
3) Superior clarity.
4) Better bass impact.
I was looking at the Philips Fidelio X1, but if you guys have better suggestions I'd love to hear it.
