Hi,

Currently I have the following:

1) a HiFimeDIY Dabre DAC.
2) Some fancy entry level interconnects from the DAC toL
3) a LittleDot MkIII headphone amp
4) A pair of Sennheiser HD595s

However, I have been told not to use the 595s at work any more because they leak too much sound and disturb others (which is true and a fair point)

So, I'm looking for a new pair with closed backs.
Budget, around £100 to £13 +- a bit if it's no too big a "bit" (that's $140 to $180)
Looking at Shure SRH840 Headphones at the moment, which can be picked up new for £120/$170)

Detailed usage:
1) At work in a quiet environment.
2) Listening to everything, but often focused Dance Music (of the electronic kind if you're American)
3) Will run double duty at home in my home studio, which will be an analogue system (on to real magnetic tape no less!)
4) And perhaps triple duty for engineering live amplified music performances.

Many Thanks.

J1M.

If you're willing to go + a little more with your budget, check out the Meze offerings - 99 Neo, or possibly a used 99 Classic. I have the Classics and love them for EDM. Very comfortable and easy to drive at home or on the go. I'd think the clarity would be good enough to some engineering as well. Again, you may need to go used to get the right price, but either way, great performance for the price.

Well, that's a rather striking design isn't it? :\
Even second hand they certainly ain't cheap are they?
Well, if there's somewhere local-ish where I can try them I shall go hunting.
Thanks!
