Hey everyone, looking for some opinions. Thanks in advance for your time. 
 
I have two "decent" headphones at the moment, Senn HD25-1 IIs and Beyerdynamic DT 990 Pros (250 Ohm). Really enjoy both of them and their respective sound signatures. I prefer the DT 990 sound slightly more, but they don't have the portability the HD25s have. Love them both for different reasons. 

Amp is Schiit Asgard, DAC is Schiit Bitfrost. Looking to upgrade my desktop headphones (DT 990s). I have the decision narrowed down to two headphones, HD 650s or DT 990 Premiums (600 Ohm). I really enjoy the clean and tight bass that my current 990s offer (also really like their durability).

I listen mostly to electronic dance/house/soul. I am hesitant to go for the HD650s because I am not sure if they will compare. Perhaps I really just need to find a pair and listen to them first. 
 
Any suggestions?

The DT990 Premium is my mind is no improvement over the normal DT990.  As for the HD650 the sound will be much more laid back and neutral ( less color than the DT990 ) so unless you want less bass slam and rolled off treble be prepared for disappointment.  Do not get me wrong, the HD650 is an awesome when driven by amps like the Headroom BUDA or the Woo WA-3 / SA-6SE.  Coming down from the DT990 may be a shock as the DT990 is very colored sounding.
 
I suggest trying some other headphones:
1.)  Shure SRH 840
2.)  Audio Technica ATH-AD900
3.)  beyer DT880 ( 32 Ohm )
4.)  HE-500
