Hi, I'm looking for a nice pair of headphones to use with my laptop. I'm mostly going to be using it for gaming but also for music and watching movies as well. My laptop doesn't have any special audio connections out, just the regular 3.5mm headphone and microphone jacks. I take it LANs somewhat frequently so if the headset blocked out ambient noise and such that'd be handy as well.

I've done some looking around on the internet and I found the sennheiser pc161, from what I've read they seem like a fairly solid choice, though a microphone isn't absolutely necessary. I'm just wondering if someone could point out any other headphones that I'm not aware of that would fit my requirements. My budget would be $200 ish at the very most.

The Audio Technica ATH A-900s are really good for gaming, plus they provide isolation and are one of the most comfortable on the market.

i recently picked up a pair of the A500 for gaming and they are awesome...i use them more than my 5.1 speakers now for gaming.

so i can only imagine how a higher end model (aka A900) would sound like.

and if u need a mic, u can always get a Zalman clip on mic

So would the A900's be worth getting even if I'm using onboard sound? And would I need an amp with that as well to get the most out of them?
