Hello, this is my first post at head fi. I've been reading though the forum quite sometime, finding the best head phone I could.
These are the list of headphone that I owned.
ATH-m50
V moda LP cross,
Dt 990 pro 250 ohm
So recently I've decided to buy a new set of headphones, but I'm not quite sure which one will best suit my preferences.
The factors that I'm considering are
1. Really good sound quality on female vocals; light, warm, and organic
2. Good sound quality of interments but not overwhelm the vocals.
3. comfort.

These are can of headphone I was consider getting at $200
Ath a900x
Ath ad900x

As for now I was looking at getting A900x for it cheapest price at $189.
Thank you very much for your time.

The Beyerdynamic DT990 will shine better with better amplifier, I would say upgrading your amplifier will be more beneficial than upgrading headphones. If possible, a tube amplifier :)

Thank you for your reply. The amplifier is somewhat expensive. I only have $200 budget, and really want to get some headphone that good without amp it.

I own the ATH-A900X and HD558s.
I would say to get the AD900X open headphones, should be the better choice for music quality.
If your ok with buying used ($140 plus shipping), off a fellow Head-Fier.

What source(s) are you going to plug the amp/headphones into?

Thank you for your respond! I will plug it in my E11 amp, and my computer (with out amp card, I'm considering getting new amp right now around $100) ,
I think I'm getting Ad900x as for your recommend.
I will receive $66.88 from selling a book at amazon.
:D thank you for your comments.
Do you have any amp recommend for the price around $100?

As I'm assuming your currently using the computer's motherboard on-board audio.
Asus Xonar DG (PCI) $27.99 or Xonar DGX (PCI-E) $35.99 sound card.
This month there is a $10 mail in rebate for either card.
Creative Labs Sound Blaster Z (SB1500), $95, plus tax & shipping.
All sound cards listed come with a headphone amplifier that can easily drive the 40-Ohm AD900X headphones.
