Hello everyone!
I’m a noob looking to buy closed headphones. I’ve followed this forum for about one month now and I’ve read a lot of articles and reviews (great forum btw!!). It looks like that the more I read, the more confused I am. There’s so many choices and, worse, not everyone seems to agree on everything.
So let me explain what I’m looking for:

Closed headphones to listen continuously in a lousy open space at work (8 hours a day). I listen to pretty much everything but mostly Indie, Alternative, Rock and Metal.
My main requirements are (from most important to less important):
-          Noise leaking
-          Isolation
-          Comfort
-          Sound obviously

I’m thinking of spending at most 100€ (120$ +-). From what I read, it looks like the ATH-M50(x) would be perfect. I live in Portugal and, unfortunately, everything is much more expansive here and a lot of brands are not available locally. Ordering them from international sites like amazon is possible but shipping and importing fees make a huge difference in the price.
Here’s a few examples of prices:

            ATH-M50x: 180€ (amazon) – ( if only they were 50€ less expansive :frowning2: )
            ATH-M40x: 120€ (local)
Sennheiser HD 439: 59€ (local)
Sennheiser HD 380 PRO: 106€ (local)

Any help/sugestion would be greatly appreciated.
PS – Sorry for my bad English

Takstar Pro 80 (Gemini HSR-1000) closed headphones.
Best sounding closed headphones I know of, for under $100 (75 Euros).
If Sony put their name on them I would think they would sell for over 100 Euros.
I would assume the import tax would still make the headphones a good value.
Maybe the headphones are sold locally in your area.
They are sold under several different names.

$67.99 (50 Euros) on eBay (free shipping).

Check out the Brainwavz HM5 and Fisher FA-003, well known for comfort:

One manufacturer makes the same cups and drivers and they are rebranded for different sellers, so same sound. Another version that is the same is the Lindy HF-100. Perhaps you can find one of the versions for a good price for you. These would be more neutral than the M50x, but more comfortable.

Now I have not tried them, but the Chinese/Asian brand thread has been talking about the Donscorpio Dolphins a lot (ask questions there) as a great value. You have to buy them shipped from Hong Kong, so I bet they ship to Portugal.
