My daily portable setup consists of an iPod and a Sennheiser PX100. Simple enough.. but over the course of the day, the iPod shifts around in my pocket a bit, and sometimes the cable gets flexed pretty severely.. enough that after a while I get recurring audio problems (dropped channels and such) as the broken wires disconnect and find each other again.
So, rather than shell out $50 for a new pair every time the cable goes, it occurred to me that a cheap, tiny extension cord (under a foot, say) would protect the more expensive headphone and be easy to replace if it suffers the same fate.
Problem is: I can't find one. Extension cables are invariably much longer than I need, and the only cables that short are adapters of some kind. Making my own would probably be simple with the right tools and parts, but I don't have them, and I don't want to spend what it costs to get them. So, any suggestions?
