Hello, is there anyone in the East Bay who can assist me with replacing a busted yoke for my Fostex FH-X00? I got replacement yoke from Fostex’ importer but need help with the installation.

I’m more than willing to compensate for your time!

If that doesn't work out, you can mail it to one of us to fix and ship back. Maybe post a pic of the damage.

Thanks @msing539 , sure, I’ll send them to one of you, if there is an offeror!

Here are a few pics them show what’s going on, as well as the parts diagram for the Th-900 (which I understand has the same yoke/headband construction), and finally links showing the yoke and the pins (called “shafts”) which attach the yokes to the cups and to the headband.

I tried prying the shafts out with a pliers, without success. Then I noticed in the parts diagram that there appears to be a screw that attaches to them on the other side. I can see the screw on the headband attachment point. It isn’t visible in the cup attachment points since it is hidden by the cup itself.

Link to yoke (mine is broken, I have the replacement part)

Sure thing man, why not post this in classifieds for a repair job? I know of a user that has taken apart lots of Fostex and I've only done one. I'll see if he has the time and desire to lend a hand.

Thanks @kartk!

I live in East Oakland. I’ve done quite a few hardware swaps for Grados, ZMFs, and recently swapped ZMF hardware onto an Auroras Borealis. I also make interconnects, cables and removable cable headphone mods.

Took a look at the pics and read the details. Seems like something I could figure out and would love to help!

Some pics of my work.

Thank you @Snake0IL415 for performing this repair, explaining your approach at the start, and keeping me informed throughout including sending me pics of the disassembly. You’re an asset to our community. Truly awesome!
